Randy Edsall to Maryland Good Move?
Is this really a good move for Randy Edsall? I look at this hiring and I think only one thing and that he just went from one basketball school to another basketball school. Yes by having him move to the ACC without a doubt it’s a better Football Conference than the Big East but is this really a good move? Edsall guided Connecticut to a 74-70 record, including an 8-5 mark this past season en route to a Big East title and the program's first BCS bowl game. It was the fourth consecutive postseason appearance for UConn, which began Edsall's tenure in the Football Championship Subdivision.
Looking at that record some individuals would say that is a horrible college coaching record but look where he is coaching. The Big East Conference is a joke always has been for football and it will continue to be a weaker conference. Looking at the future of the Big East they will be adding TCU which should continue its ways that they have in the Mountain West by dominating their opponents.
Randy should have stayed. He has the chance to make UCONN continue to grow he already has made to the BCS Bowl Game. He is now moving into a conference that is historically better in football and not just known for their basketball.
I guess will just have to sit back and wonder if this was a good move for Randy or not. Personally I think he should have stayed and Maryland should have hired Former Texas Tech Coach Mike Leach, but that's a story for another day.

I agree. Leach at Maryland would be a good fit but Leach has baggage.
