Is the UFL a replacement for the Lockout in the NFL?

Jerry Glanville has signed on to be the team's Head Coach and General Manager in 2011. The team introduced Glanville Monday. "I am already fired up by the excitement of coaching new players in a new city," Glanville said.
As Head Coach of the Houston Oilers and Atlanta Falcons, Glanville would leave two tickets at will call each game for Elvis. The tickets, as you would assume, were never picked up. Glanville spent two decade in the NFL until he moved over to broadcasting and then back to coaching college football until 2009.
"We have brought a proven winner and a colorful person to Hartford and he is certain to excite and entertain our fans," said Colonials owner Bill Mayer. "His enthusiasm not only for the game, but also for what we are trying to achieve in Hartford and with the UFL is infectious."  Here is the thing this a league that has potential but with the state of the United States economy this league compared to the NFL is the little sister of the poor.  According to espn.com The UFL lost nearly $80 million in its first two seasons of existence. As of a few weeks ago, the league still owed creditors roughly $5 million, raising questions about the league's viability in 2011.
"Oh, we're going to have a third season," Glanville insisted. "I can assure you of that."
For Glanville, another opportunity to coach was irresistible. click here for more http://sports.espn.go.com/extra/ufl/news/story?id=6241713&campaign=rss&source=ESPNHeadlines  Also to consider with the lockout in the NFL could this league prosper in the mainstream.  Thinking about it for this league to prosper it needs to have the NFL continue to have a lockout and for them to have main media behind them or they will struggle just like the XFL did in the early 2000's because when the XFL was established the mainstream media mocked it and never received attention as most traditional sports do.  The second thing is this league needs a true tv market and I think as long the NFL continues to lockout then there is a small chance.
