Alright so I'm not a Big East fan but I must admit this has to some of the worst officiating to end a basketball game in a long time. With the score, 65-63, and 4.9 seconds left, Rutgers took the ball out under St. John’s basket. Its strategy was to throw a three-quarters-court pass to its big man, 6-foot-8 Gilvydas Biruta, awaiting above the opposite 3-point arc. Biruta tried to pass or direct the ball to his teammate Jonathan Mitchell on the wing, but Brownlee got hold of it, then dribbled to the sideline, and appeared to travel and certainly stepped out of bounds before flinging the ball upward in celebration.
The horn sounded, the score was final, and the referees hustled off the court.
