President Obama may be a Democrat but his choices of teams to make the Final Four of the NCAA Basketball tournment are decidedly conservative.
Obama, a recreational basketball player himself, chose all the No. 1 seeds -- Kansas, Ohio State, Pittsburgh and Duke to make it to the Final Four of the tournament in Houston.
The president unveiled on Wednesday his March Madness bracket to ESPN basketball analyst Andy Katz at the White House, showing off a detailed knowledge of coaches, star players and team strategy.
Again this year he chose Kansas to win it all, even though he admitted the Jayhawks had let him down in 2010.
"I picked Kansas last year to win it and I got hurt," Obama said of the Jayhawks, who lost to lowly Northern Iowa in the second round of the tournament last year.
"But I am looking at those twins, the Morris brothers. I think they (Kansas) have depth, they have experience," Obama said.
Kansas is led by twins Marcus and Markieff Morris who between them average 30.9 points a game, 15.4 rebounds and 59 percent shooting from the field.
He picked the nation's No. 1 rated team, Ohio State, to make it to the championship game with Kansas.
"Ohio State looks terrific. That young guy in the middle knows how to play," Obama said of Buckeye big man Jared Sullinger.
Obama said he wanted to get back in the good graces of legendary Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzeski by also picking the Blue Devils to make the Final Four.
"Last year I did not pick Duke and coach K gave me a hard time. So I'm going with Duke," Obama said.
Despite all the international and domestic problems he juggles, Obama seemed perfectly comfortable talking basketball with an expert. He described BYU deadeye shooter Jimmer Fredette as a "great talent" and Connecticut's Kemba Walker as ready for the professional ranks.
ESPN, which will broadcast more than 60 March Madness games, promoted the Obama bracket on the network and on its website, calling it "Baracketology."
Obama is an avid basketball player, who last year had to get 12 stitches in his lip after he took an elbow to the face during a pickup game.
