NCAA going to be pointing the finger back at you Chip Kelly

Who among us doesn’t want the Oregon compliance department to do our tax returns?
Those people will find loopholes that haven’t been conceived by the Big Six accounting firms.
Oregon maintains the school’s payment of $25,000 to Complete Scouting Services of Houston was run through compliance and OK’d. As Yahoo! Sports reports, Lyles has a “mentoring relationship” with running back Lache Seastrunk, who now plays for the Ducks.
As you might imagine, roughly 25 years of covering college basketball has led me to friendships and acquaintances with a lot of people who run scouting services.
One guy I know, who is quite capable and has nearly 15 years experience as a scout, charges $500 for his service. He appeared to be doing well with this endeavor, but now it is quite obvious he is a terrible businessman, because somebody else out there—admittedly in another sport, so maybe that’s the difference—is getting $25K for his work.
Oregon’s statement declared, “This is no different than services purchased by a number of colleges and universities throughout the country.”
I wonder how my friend feels today. There’s somebody out there who’s 50 times better at his job. And it’s official.
